Welcome to the New Housecraft
It’s been far too long since my last post! But it’s because I’ve been working on a new design for the blog, and a new content with an expanded mandate.
Here’s What the What Is
About a year ago I realized that, as a person with a full time job, I wasn’t able to renovate fast enough to keep the blog articles hoppin’. I started mixing in other topics like recipes, but I still wasn’t able to post fast enough for my liking. I was still writing – just about tons of other stuff that didn’t really fit into the home reno basket. I was posting less often, and the blog suffered. To top it all off, people were telling me that it was too wordy, and not visual enough.
Did I give up? Did I give in? Well, kind of a bit, but just for a while. I took my sweet ol’ time, but I think I have a solution on my hands. Drum roll, please…
Time to Shake It Up
So I’m going to solve the problems by turning the blog inside out.
- We’ve got a new design that shows off the pretty pictures more.
- The new design has way better typography, and is meant for people who actually read.
- Over the next few months you may see categories appearing and disappearing as new topics emerge.
Are the renovation before & after stories going anywhere? No way! On the reno front, I’ll have a new custom bedroom closet to show you. I’ll also be looking more at other people’s awesome reno projects. I’ll also have some articles about great design books that I found helpful, my struggle to defeat my pack rat instincts, and possibly even a new garden.
Home is bigger – and smaller – than the actual houses we inhabit, however. It’s about our communities, and even our bodies. I’ll be looking at how space shapes us on a macro and micro level, and hopefully not freak people out too much while doing it.
I thank you for your patience, and hope you like the new format. Your thoughts are welcome, so write me, OK?
Jennifer
